The Buxton Military Tattoo

For the second year running the Devonshire Dome had a full house for an event that is fast becoming an annual highlight. The bands of the Lancashire Artillery Volunteers and the 48 strong Yorkshire Volunteers joined the Heavy Cavalry and Cambrai Band, the Pipes and Drums of RAF Waddington, the Nottinghamshire Band of the Royal Engineers and the Derbyshire Army Cadet Force Band. The 200 strong cast united for a spine-tingling finale in this spectacle of colour and sound.

126 (City of Derby) Squadron RAF Air Cadets gave an immaculate precision drill display and later competed against Army cadets in a Cadet ‘Lite Gun’ Race. The Salute was taken by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant, Mr William Tucker, President of The Derbyshire Committee, and the event was attended by civic dignitaries from Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire.

Event Manager Chris Thornton commented that the Tattoo, which is presented by the ABF

The Soldiers’ Charity, had raised over £15,000 for the Service Charities.

A DVD of the show, price £12 (plus £1 p&p)
