Introducing Tony and Victoria Jacobs

When asked to write a blog for Derbyshire Life we reacted with a mix of excitement and panic. Excitement at the opportunity to contribute to a magazine that we have both enjoyed reading for many years and panic at the prospect of finding something interesting to write!

We have a love of good food and an almost obsessive passion for sourcing the best ingredients and we hope to share some of our enthusiasm with you. Victoria is an accomplished baker and cook, with an interest in a wide range of different cuisines - all linked by the simple desire to create delicious food from the best ingredients.  Tony, meanwhile, spends as much time as possible baking artisan bread.  Through our business, Love Cakes of Derby, Victoria is able to indulge her passion for baking traditional hand made cakes.

For those with an interest in good food, Derbyshire is a wonderful place to live.  We are blessed with an abundance of small local food producers who are committed to making the best quality food and we intend to explore some of these in our blog.

Our aim with this blog is to share our love of food through articles about local food, great ingredients and regular recipes for cakes, bread and other delicious dishes.
